Carpet Regions

Persian carpets and rugs of various types were woven by nomadic tribes and reflect the history of Iran and its various people. The carpets manufactured in the country are often named after the area where they are made, like Tabriz, Kerman, Mashhad, Kashan, Isfahan, Nain, Yazd and Qom and they are characterized by their specific weaving techniques and use of high-quality materials, colors and patterns. Nomadic weavers often produce rugs with bolder and sometimes more coarse designs, which are considered as the most authentic and traditional rugs of Persia. MGT inventory has expanded to include all types of handmade oriental carpets and textiles with a wide variety of styles and designs from different regions of Iran.

Tabriz Carpets

Tabriz is the capital of Azerbaijan, a province in the north of Iran. Traditionally, it has been a city of master weavers. Tabriz Rugs are famous by their classic designs and inspiring weave.

Isfahan Carpets

Isfahan, located in the center of Iran has a rich history. Authentic Isfahan rugs are of an excellent quality and famous by their central medallion surrounded by whorls.

Kashan Carpets

Kashan in its actuality is a city in central Iran. With a long history of carpet making, Kashan rugs are most famous of Persian carpet design for their expansive floral patterns and all-over Shah Abbas field.

Kerman Carpets

The city of Kerman is in southeastern IRAN and has long been a carpet weaving centers. Kerman carpets are highly prized because of the quality of their design and colors.

Qom Carpets

Qum (also known as Qom) is located 100km south of Tehran in the center of Iran. Qum produce some of Iran's most well–regarded rugs despite the city being relatively new to the carpet weaving industry.
